WHY VETERANS MAKE EXCEPTIONAL DRIVERS
Trained to a Safety Standard
Pre-trip inspections, checklists, and zero-tolerance safety culture are already second nature to you.
Heavy Vehicle Hours
LMTVs, HEMTTs, tankers, buses — time in the seat of a heavy vehicle is time carriers count.
Built for Structure
Logbooks, hours-of-service, and dispatch schedules run on the same rhythm you already know.
Proven Under Pressure
Long hauls, bad weather, tight windows. Carriers hire veterans because you keep moving.
YOUR PATH, YOUR BENEFITS
Six ways your service pays for your CDL
Most veterans qualify for more than one. We help you figure out which combination gets you licensed fastest.
GI BILL
Post-9/11 GI Bill
Covers up to 100% of tuition at a VA-approved CDL school, plus a monthly housing allowance while you train.
CH 31
VR&E (Veteran Readiness & Employment)
With a service-connected disability rating, VR&E can cover training, tools, and job placement — separate from your GI Bill.
WAIVER
Military Skills Test Waiver
Two years safely operating heavy military vehicles? Your state may waive the CDL road test entirely.
ACTIVE
DoD SkillBridge
Still in? Train up to six months before your separation date, on orders, at no cost to you.
OJT
On-the-Job Training
Get paid while you learn. Carriers approved for OJT can supplement your wages with GI Bill funds during your first months.
SWAP
Even Exchange
Some states trade your military driving record straight across toward a civilian CDL. Fewer steps, less paperwork.
